Stratocaster Prewired Wiring Harness (5-Way Switch, .047uF Tone Cap)
This prewired wiring harness is built for the standard Fender Stratocaster control layout — three single-coil pickups, one volume, two tone controls, and a 5-way blade switch — fully assembled and tested on our workbench before it ships. Every harness ships with a wiring diagram and installation instructions, and arrives prewired on a drilled assembly board sized to your Stratocaster's control cavity. Each harness is carefully assembled by hand. I want you to be 100% satisfied.
If you've been searching for a Stratocaster wiring harness for your standard SSS or HSS Strat, this is the harness.
Choose Your Tone Cap
Paper-in-Oil (PIO) or Orange Drop
Both options are wired with a .047uF tone capacitor — the vintage-correct value for a Stratocaster's single-coil pickups — on the same standard-wired harness.
Paper-in-oil (PIO) is our premium recommendation: prized for a warmer, more gradual roll-off as you turn down the tone knob, delivering the true 50s vintage tone Strat players chase.
Orange Drop gives a bright, punchy, modern-vintage voicing — the classic Fender-style tone at a more affordable price.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Orange Drop and PIO tone caps?
Both are .047uF on this harness. Orange Drop is the modern-vintage standard with a clean roll-off; paper-in-oil (PIO) rolls off more gradually for a warmer, more vintage-correct 50s character.
Does this include the 5-way switch?
Yes — an Oak Grigsby 5-way blade switch is prewired into every harness (switch tip not included).
Will this fit my HSS or HH Stratocaster?
This Strat harness is great for the HSS setup. The 250K pots work with a humbucker in the bridge to give it some extra warmth and thickness.
This Stratocaster wiring harness does not work with the HH pickup configuration, but we have a custom harness for the HH. Contact us for a quote on this setup.
Do you offer the Eric Johnson wiring or a .1uF vintage cap?
Yes — those are built as separate harnesses since they use different wiring or cap specs than this standard version. See our Eric Johnson Signature Harness or our Blues '64 Harness.
How long does it take to ship?
Each harness is custom-built to order, with a 5–10 business-day lead time before it ships. Shipping to U.S. addresses is free.

Workbench Note:
You probably started thinking about your Stratocaster wiring for one or both of two reasons. The most common motivator is that you're just not happy with your tone; it just isn't the sound you've heard on your favorite recordings or dreamed of. Or maybe the controls have gotten noisy, or aren't easy to fine-tune, or aren't reliable. A volume pot has gone scratchy or the 5-way switch crackles between positions.
Trying to fix these problems component by component can be frustrating, especially if you lack the experience to solder reliably without damaging any components. It becomes even harder if the first try doesn't "fix it" and you have to go back and try again.
That's why the prewired Strat harness is a great solution - it replaces the whole signal path in one go. A new complete harness offers just the right pots, switch, jack, and tone cap, built to spec and tested before it ever leaves the bench. It's why so many Fender Strat owners search for a Stratocaster wiring harness instead of troubleshooting a single failed part: in one afternoon, you can swap out the scratchy pots and dull tone for a fresh PIO or Orange Drop tone cap and hardware that's ready to perform for years. The installation guide we include with every order will show you exactly how to do it.
